iPad 4.2 slow-down - updating iPad from iOS 3.2 to 4.2 will slow iPad down

I write this because not everyone may have the opportunity or the resolve to test before updating and no-one should become unhappy because of updating.

I'm myself one of the die-hards who routinely buy Apple goodies before they've ever seen the public, pre-ordering and trusting. And I've not been disappointed. I'm saying this only because I wish to prevent discussions and arguments here. Everyone can test for themselves anyway, nobody needs to take my word for it. So please, don't comment. Let's not start a 10,000 thread. Please.

4.2 slowed down switching between applications considerably. Opening URLs from notes, from emails is about 2 seconds slower when compared side by side with a 3.2 iPad. Opening PDFs in iBooks is slower, too. Even using the home screen to switch between apps is faster on the old system with no multi-tasking. Loading of built-in Apple apps is sometimes slower, sometimes the same. Even reopening the same, cached web pages is slower on 4.2.

I tested because I'm very happy with my iPad and I'm happy I did. The fluency of iPad makes it a tool, not a piece of technology. It feels right. Few seconds here and there is not awful, but takes away a bit from this joy. That's all, everybody can test for themselves. Only those who want the new features, should update IMHO.

Respectfully,
Roman
